RA 8353, the Anti-Rape Law of 1997, reclassifies rape as a crime against persons, emphasizing consent and expanding its scope to include marital rape. It defines rape as acts involving force, threat, or abuse, and penalizes offenders with severe punishments, such as reclusion perpetua.

Republic Act No. 7877, also known as the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995, is a Philippine law that aims to protect individuals from sexual harassment in the workplace, educational institutions, and training environments. The law mandates that employers, heads of educational institutions, and other institutions implement policies to prevent and address incidents of sexual harassment.

Under RA 7877, sexual harassment is defined as any unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or any verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that interferes with the victim's work or study environment. It imposes penalties on perpetrators and holds responsible those in authority who fail to prevent such incidents from occurring.
